Support this year’s Brescia House School Grade 11 CAT and IT girls by attending and/or sponsoring the CuriosITy event on Saturday, 7 September

The CuriosITy initiative began in May 2016, when four Grade 11 girls from Brescia House School started a project under the Microsoft Student Ambassadors program to impact their community. Noticing that few girls pursue IT as a career or matric subject, they decided to host a special event for girls interested in IT.

CuriosITy is for Grade 11 girls studying Computer Applications Technology or Information Technology to share their IT passions with peers and professionals.

Grade 11 girls from various Gauteng schools seek guidance on succeeding as women in the technology industry. They need help with tertiary education choices, building on their IT school subjects and what it takes to land a job in this competitive field. The intention is to showcase that the IT space is more than just coding and applications; it is a complex profession with many facets.

The CuriosITy event has been incredibly successful, with former participants now accomplished professionals, returning to inspire the next generation. Hosted by Brescia House School Grade 11 CAT and IT girls, this non-profit event depends on the support of professionals and generous sponsorships. We anticipate the participation of 250 Grade 11 girl learners, 60 teachers from over 40 Gauteng schools, and 60 professionals. Our sponsorship target is R120 000.

We welcome any sponsorship amount! You can become a primary sponsor, sponsor any number of girls at R300 each, or donate gifts or prizes.

We need individual and team prizes for groups of 5; along with 370 units/gifts of things like water bottles, pens, notebooks, t-shirts, and more. We're happy to accept any kind or number of gifts and/or prizes!
